Instructions
To change Portsea Pier tides between metres and feet click the 'height' link on the top right of the graph. WillyWeather will remember the selection for next time you visit. You may navigate to different dates with the left and right arrows, or by using the 'jump to date' button on the bottom right of the tide chart. To find the closest tide locations to Portsea Pier, see the 'closest locations' link and the map in the sidebar to the right.
The Data
Tide times data has been adjusted for daylight savings where and when applicable. WillyWeather interpolates its tide times for many locations by converting the tide forecasts provided by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology for standard ports, and data from the Australian National Tide Tables. The tide times on the Portsea Pier tides page have been adjusted by 80 mins for low tide and 80 mins for high tide to the official tide times for Port Phillip Heads. Tide height data is for Port Phillip Heads, no adjustment has been made.

Clock accuracy

Tide Clock Accuracy
The online tide clock displays the current tide for Portsea Pier as supplied by the Bureau of Meteorology using methods of interpolation and offsets provided by the Australian National Tide Tables. Actual tide clocks such as those available through the store on this website are not accurate enough for scientific purposes as they do not take into account the gravitational effects of the sun, or changes in atmospheric pressure which may alter the state of the tides. Please note that in some areas, the gravitational effects of the sun are similar in magnitude to that of the moon.
