Moderate Flood Warning for the Wimmera River
Issued at 9:47 am EST on Thursday 9 September 2010

In the 24 hours to 9:00 am Thursday up to 2 mm has been recorded in the Wimmera
catchment. Rainfall totals of 10 to 20 mm have been forecast
for the 24 hours from 9 am Thursday for the Wimmera Catchment. This rainfall is
expected to lead to renewed stream rises and possible minor flooding in the
upper reaches of the Wimmera Basin overnight Thursday into Friday.

The main flood waters will be around and downstream of Horsham during Wednesday
with stream rises occurring downstream of Horsham for the remainder of this
week.

Significant flows are present in the Richardson and Avon River systems.

Upstream of Horsham
The Wimmera River at Glenorchy has fallen below the Minor Flood Level (4.0
metres) and is continuing to fall slowly.

Horsham and Quantong Bridge
The Wimmera River at Drung Drung peaked at 4.70 metres Tuesday afternoon. The
river is currently steady at 4.1 metres and falling.

The Wimmera River at Horsham (Walmers) is expected to be around 3.3 metres
during Thursday morning. Flooding is expected to continue around and downstream
of Horsham during Thursday.

The Wimmera River at Quontong Bridge is currently at 6.41 metres and rising.
Flooding is expected to continue around and downstream of Quontong Bridge
during Thursday.

Wimmera River lower reaches
The Wimmera River U/S Dimboola is currently at 5.98 metres and rising. The
river will continue rising until the weekend.

In the interests of community safety the SES suggests following precautions:
* Don't walk, ride or drive through floodwater,
* Don't allow children to play in floodwater,
* Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains, and
* Keep well clear of fallen power lines

A weakening cold front will cross western Victoria during Thursday before
slipping away southwards. A stronger cold front will approach Victoria Thursday
night and will sweep across the State on Friday morning. A high pressure system
will move across South Australia and New South Wales during the weekend and
will stay well to the north of Victoria. The next cold front will approach
western Victoria later on Sunday.

Cloudy. Areas of rain developing from late morning and the chance of

Victoria

Minor Flood Warning for the Broken River
Issued at 9:44 am EST on Thursday 9 September 2010

In 24 hours to 9am Thursday rainfall totals up to 2 mm have been recorded
across the Broken catchment. Rainfall is expected during Thursday with rainfall
totals of up to 20 to 30 mm forecast in the Broken Catchment. This rainfall is
expected to lead to some renewed stream rises and possible renewed minor
flooding in the upper reaches of the Broken River and tributaries.

Benalla
Due to technical difficulties no automatic river height observations are
available at Benalla, however a manual level reading at Benalla has confirmed
the river is below the minor flood level of 2.50 metres.

Caseys Weir
The Broken River at Caseys Weir is currently at 1.02 metres (Minor Flood Level
2.1 metres) and continuing to fall.

Broken Creek
Broken Creek at Walsh Bridge is currently at 1.42 metres and rising slowly.
Early indications are that a peak between 2.2 and 2.3 metres is possible.
Prediction for Walsh Bridge will be provided once upstream gauges have peaked.

Orrvale
The Broken River at Orrvale fell below the Moderate Flood Level (7.2 metres)
metres) early Thursday morning. The river is currently at 6.9 metres (Minor
Flood Level 6.8 metres) and falling. The river is expected to fall below the
Minor Flood Level during Thursday afternoon.

In the interests of community safety the SES suggests following precautions:

* Don't allow children to play in floodwater,
* Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains, and
* Keep well clear of fallen power lines

Moderate Flood Warning for the Goulburn River
Minor Flood Warning for the Acheron River
Issued at 9:43 am EST on Thursday 9 September 2010

Since 9 am Wednesday rainfall totals of up to 2.4 mm at Avalon Station have
been recorded in the Goulburn catchment. Further rainfall is expected on
Thursday, with totals of 20 to 30 mm forecast in the Goulburn Catchment. This
rainfall is expected to lead to some small renewed stream rises and possible
renewed minor flooding in the upper reaches of the Goulburn and tributaries.

The main flood waters in the Goulburn Basin are now at Shepparton, and further
rises downstream of Shepparton are expected today.

Upstream of Lake Eildon
The Goulburn River at Doherty's is currently at 1.89 metres (Minor Flood Level
2.0 metres) and falling. As a result of forecast rainfall the river may rise
above the Minor Flood Level late Thursday into Friday.

Goulburn tributaries below Eildon and Seymour
The Acheron River at Taggerty is currently at 2.12 metres (Minor Flood Level
2.0 metres) and falling. Further rises are possible due to forecast rain in the
Goulburn catchment today with minor flooding continuing for several days.

Goulburn River Lake Eildon to Seymour
Goulburn River at Trawool is currently at 3.38 metres (Minor Flood Level 4.0
metres) and falling. Further rises are possible as a result of forecast
rainfall for Thursday.

Seymour
The Goulburn River at Seymour fell below Minor Flood Level (4.0 metres) late
Wednesday night and is currently at 3.63 metres and falling. Further rises are
possible as a result of forecast rainfall for Thursday.

Hughes Creek
Hughes Creek at Tarcombe Road is currently at 1.39 metres (2.0 metres) and
falling slowly. Further rises are possible as a result of forecast rainfall for
Thursday.

Murchison
The Goulburn River at Murchison is currently at 9.74 metres (Minor Flood Level
9.0 metres) and falling slowly. The river is expected to remain above the Minor
Flood Level for the next several days.

Seven Creeks at Kialla West
Seven Creeks at Kialla West is currently at 5.23 metres (Moderate Flood Level
5.0 metres) and falling. The river is expected to fall below the Moderate Flood
Level on Friday.

Broken River at Orrvale
The Broken River at Orrvale fell below Moderate Flood Level (7.2 metres) early
Thursday morning. The river is currently at 6.94 metres (Minor Flood Level 6.8
metres) and falling. The river is expected to fall below the Minor Flood Level
Thursday afternoon.

Goulburn River at Arcadia Downs
The Goulburn River at Arcadia Downs peaked at around 10.81 metres (Major Flood
Level 10.7 metres) at about 4am Wednesday. The river fell below Major Flood
Level Thursday morning and is currently at 10.68 metres (Moderate Flood Level
10.2 metres) and falling slowly. The river is expected to remain around this
level during Thursday and into Friday.

Shepparton
The Goulburn River at Shepparton peaked at 11.09 metres (Major Flood Level 11.0
metres) at about 6am Wednesday. The river fell below Major Flood Level late
Wednesday night and is currently at 10.85 metres (Moderate Flood Level 10.7
metres) and falling slowly. The river is expected to fall below the Moderate
Flood Level early Friday and fall to around 10 metres on Sunday (Minor Flood
Level 9.5 metres).

McCoys Bridge
The Goulburn River at McCoys Bridge is currently at 8.74 metres (Minor Flood
Level 9.0 metres) and rising. The river is expected to rise above Minor Flood
level Thursday afternoon and peak around the Moderate Flood Level (10 metres)
during Friday.

Moderate Flood Warning for the Loddon River

Since 9 am Wednesday up to 2.4 mm has been recorded in the Loddon catchment.
Rainfall totals of 10 to 20 mm have been forecast for the 24 hours from 9 am
Thursday for the Loddon Catchment. This rainfall is expected to lead to some
renewed stream rises and possible renewed minor flooding in the upper reaches
of the Loddon River and tributaries.

Stream levels in the Loddon catchment to Laanecoorie reservoir have peaked and
are now below the minor flood level, however further stream rises are expected
in late Thursday into Friday due to forecast rainfall. Rises in the Loddon
catchment downstream of Loddon Weir are expected over the coming days as flood
water moves down through the catchment.

Upstream of Laanecoorie Reservoir
Bet Bet Creek at Bet Bet is currently steady at 1.44 metres (Minor Flood Level
4.0 metres).

Downstream of Laanecoorie Reservoir
The Loddon River downstream of Laanecoorie is currently at 1.76 metres (Minor
Flood Level 1.5 metres) and falling.

The Loddon River D/S Loddon Weir is currently at 5.97 metres (Minor Flood Level
3.3 metres) and falling. The river is expected to remain above the Minor Flood
Level for the next several days.

Appin South
The Loddon River at Appin South is currently at 2.64 metres (Minor Flood Level
2.8 metres) and rising. Early indications are that the river will peak above
the Moderate Flood Level between 3.1 and 3.2 metres during Saturday into Sunday.

Kerang
Loddon River at Kerang is currently steady at 76.24 metres (Minor Flood Level
77.0 Metres. The river is expected to rise in several days as flood waters make
their way downstream from the Loddon Weir. A peak forecast will be provided
once upstream gauges have peaked.

Major Flood Warning for the Avoca River

No significant rainfall totals have been recorded since 9:00 am Wednesday in
the Avoca River catchment. Rainfall totals of 10 to 20 mm have been forecast
for the 24 hours from 9 am Thursday for the Avoca Catchment. This rainfall is
expected to lead to renewed stream rises and possible renewed minor flooding in
the upper reaches of the Avoca River late Thursday into Friday.


The main flood waters in the Avoca River are now arriving in the Quambatook
area.

Upstream of Yawong Weir
Avoca River at Archdale Junction is continuing to fall.

Downstream of Yawong Weir
The Avoca River at Yawong Weir fell below the Minor Flood Level (3.0 metres),
around 2am Wednesday. The river is currently steady at 1.4 metres.

Charlton
The Avoca River at Charlton D/S fell below the Minor Flood Level (5.0 metres)
around 11pm Wednesday. The river is currently at 4.34 metres and falling.

The Avoca River at Quambatook is currently at 1.89 metres (Minor Flood Level
2.0 metres) and is expected to continue rising for several days. A peak height
around the Major Flood Level (2.4 metres) is expected Friday or Saturday.

Moderate Flood Warning for the Yarra River at Yarra Glen
Issued at 5:31 pm EST on Wednesday 8 September 2010
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Victorian Regional Office in consultation with
Melbourne Water

The Upper Yarra River catchment has received rainfall averaging 35mm over four
day period from 09:00 Saturday 04/09/2010. The Lower Yarra region has received
average rainfall totals of 12mm for the same period. No significant rainfall
amount was recorded in both of the Upper Yarra region and the Lower Yarra
Region since 09:00am yesterday. Rainfall totals of up to 20mm in 24 hour
period starting 09:00 Thursday (09/09/2010) have been forecast for the Upper
Yarra region.

At Coldstream (Yarra Grange) the Yarra River reached its peak of 4.88m at 16:00
yesterday (Tuesday 07/09/2010). Currently the water level at this location is
still above the minor flood level of 4.1m and slowly falling.

At Yarra Glen the water level in the Yarra River reached the moderate flood
level of 4.5m at 22:00 last night. The river level at this site is currently
steady at 4.56m, which is above the moderate flood level of 4.5m.

Flooding in the Upper Yarra Region at Yarra Grange and Yarra Glen is causing
inundation in low-lying areas adjacent to the river; in particular bicycle
paths, pedestrian paths and parklands. No roads are affected at this stage.

Minor Flood Warning for the Thomson River downstream of the Macalister River
Junction

No rainfall has been recorded over the Thomson and macalister catchments since
9am Wednesday. Rainfall is expected during Thursday, with rainfall totals of up
to 10 to 15 mm in the Thompson and Macalister River catchments. This rainfall
may lead to small stream rises in the Thomson and renewed rises in the
Macalister River Catchment.

As a result of the minor flood flow releases from Lake Glenmaggie high stream
levels and minor flooding are expected along the Thomson River downstream of
the Macalister River Junction.

Southern Rural Water advises that releases from Lake Glenmaggie are steady at
8,770 Ml per day and will likely remain at this rate into Thursday.

Level 2.4 metres). Areas of minor flooding will continue around and downstream
of Sale into Thursday.

Since 9am Wednesday no significant rainfall has been recorded in the Ovens and
King River catchments. No significant rainfall has been forecast for the rest
of Wednesday. Further rainfall totals of up to 20 to 30mm are forecast in the
Ovens Catchment during Thursday. This rainfall is expected to lead to some
small renewed stream rises and possible renewed minor flooding in the upper
reaches of the Ovens Basin.

Minor to Moderate flooding is occurring in the King and Ovens catchments.

Ovens River upstream of Bright
The Ovens River at Bright is currently below the Minor Flood Level (3.0 metres)
and falling.

Buckland River
The Buckland River at Harris Lane is below the Minor Flood Level (2.8 metres)
and falling.

Myrtleford
The Ovens River at Eurobin is is below the Minor Flood Level (4.5 metres) and
falling.

Buffalo River
The Buffalo River downstream of Lake Buffalo is currently at 3.72 metres (Minor
Flood level 3.0 metres) and falling. The river is expected to remain above the
Minor Flood Level for several days.

Rocky Point
The Ovens River at Rocky Point is currently at 3.54 metres (Minor Flood Level
3.2 metres) and falling. The river is expected to remain above the Minor Flood
Level for several days.

Upper King River
The King River at Cheshunt is currently below the Minor Flood Level (1.8
metres) and falling.

Docker Road
The King River at Docker Road is at 3.95 metres (Moderate Flood Level 3.95
metres) and falling slowly. The river is expected to remain above the Minor
Flood Level into early next week.

Wangaratta
The Ovens River at Wangaratta peaked at 12.80 metres (Major Flood Level 12.7
metres) around 4pm Monday, and is now falling slowly. The river fell below the
Major Flood Level around 1 PM Tuesday. The river is currently at 12.6 metres
and expected to fall below the Moderate Flood Level (12.4 metres) between 6.00
and 11.00 AM Thursday.

Minor Flood Warning for the Kiewa River
Issued at 12:01 pm EST on Wednesday 8 September 2010
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Victorian Regional Office

No rainfall has been recorded in the Kiewa river catchment since 9am Tuesday,
and little rainfall is expected during Wednesday.

Rainfall is possible on Thursday and Friday, with rainfall totals of up to 30
mm forecast in the Kiewa catchment. This rainfall is expected to lead to some
small renewed stream rises and possible renewed minor flooding in the upper
reaches of the Kiewa catchment.

Flooding is currently occurring in the Kiewa catchment and expected to continue
over the next several days.

AGL Hydro advises that releases from storages into the Kiewa River are
currently steady at around 100 ML/hour.

Mongans Bridge
Kiewa River at Mongans Bridge is currently at 2.27 metres and falling. Forecast
rainfall for Thursday and Friday may see the river rise above the Minor Flood
Level (2.4 metres) early Friday.

The main channel of the Kiewa River is currently steady at 3.33 metres (Minor
Flood Level 3.3 metres). The river is expected to remain above the Minor Flood
Level overnight Wednesday into Thursday.

Bandiana
The Kiewa River at Bandiana is currently at 2.91 metres (Moderate Flood Level
3.1 metres) and falling slowly. The river is expected to remain above Minor
Flood Level (2.7 metres) for several days.

MINOR TO MODERATE FLOOD WARNING FOR RURAL AREAS ALONG THE MURRAY RIVER
DOWNSTREAM OF HUME DAM

The Murray River at Yarrawonga peaked near 6.9 metres Wednesday morning with
moderate flooding.

Predicted River Heights/Flows:
Albury - remain below minor flood level

Corowa - peak near 4 metres Wednesday evening/ Thursday with minor rural
flooding.


Tocumwal - exceed minor flood level (6.4 metres) Thursday morning
- reach moderate flood level (6.7 metres) late Thursday/Friday

Deniliquin - reach 6.5 metres around 19/9/10 with minor rural flooding

Echuca / Moama - reach 94 metres (AHD) around 15/9/10 with moderate rural
flooding - note river levels will be close to the peak
for several days before the maximum level is recorded.

Barham - reach 5.9 metres around 19/9/10 with moderate rural flooding

* Don't allow children to play in floodwater,
* Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains, and
* Keep well clear of fallen power lines

Minor Flood Warning for the Wonnangatta and Mitchell Rivers.
Issued at 10:41 am EST on Wednesday 8 September 2010

In the 24 hours to 9:00 am Wednesday no significant rainfall has been recorded
in the Mitchell River catchment. No significant rainfall is expected during
Wednesday, however further rainfall is forecast for Thursday, with totals of up
to 5 to 10 mm possible. This rainfall may lead to small renewed stream rises in
the Mitchell Catchment.

Mitchell River upstream of Glenaladale
The Wonnangatta River at Waterford is currently at 3.44 metres (Minor Flood
Level 3.5 metres) and falling slowly. The river is expected to remain below the
minor flood level.

Glenaladale
The Mitchell River at Glenaladale is currently at 2.84 metres (Minor Flood
Level 3.0 metres) and falling slowly. The river is expected to remain below the
minor flood level.

Bairnsdale
The Mitchell River at Rosehill peaked at 7.95 metres. The river is currently at
6.46 metres and falling slowly.

The Mitchell River at Bairnsdale Pumphouse peaked around 6.4 metres between
12.00 pm and 2.00 pm Monday. The river is currently at 4.73 metres (Minor Flood
Level 4.0 metres) and falling very slowly. It is expected that the river will
fall below the Minor Flood Level overnight Wednesday into Thursday.

* Don't walk, ride or drive through floodwater,
* Don't allow children to play in floodwater,
* Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains, and
* Keep well clear of fallen power lines

Minor Flood Warning for the Macalister River Downstream of Lake Glenmaggie
Issued at 10:41 am EST on Wednesday 8 September 2010

No rainfall has been recorded across the Macalister River catchment since 9 am
Tuesday. No significant rainfall is expected during Wednesday, however further
rainfall is possible during Thursday, with rainfall totals of up to 10 mm in
the Macalister River catchment. This rainfall may lead to some small renewed
rises in the Macalister River Catchment.

As a result of rainfall and possible snow melt over the weekend, high stream
levels are currently occurring along the Macalister River downstream of Lake
Glenmaggie.

Macalister Catchment upstream of Lake Glenmaggie
The Macalister River at Glencairn peaked at 3.2 metres around 5:30 am Sunday
morning. The river is currently at 1.27 metres and falling.

Macalister Catchment downstream of Lake Glenmaggie
Southern Rural Water advises that releases from Lake Glenmaggie are currently
at 8,770 ML/d (Minor Flood Flow 7,500 ML/d) and will remain steady throughout
Wednesday. High stream levels and areas of minor flooding will continue
downstream of lake Glenmaggie for the remainder of Wednesday.

This flood warning covers both the Victorian and New South Wales
parts of the Murray River catchment upstream of Lake Hume.

Minor Flood Warning for the Murray River upstream of Lake Hume
Issued at 10:25 am EST on Wednesday 8 September 2010

Reissue to correct date of next issue.

No rainfall has been recorded in the Upper Murray catchment since 9am
Wednesday.

Further rainfall is expected on Thursday with possible totals of 20 to 30 mm in
the Upper Murray catchment. This rainfall is expected to lead to renewed stream
rises with the potential for minor flooding during Friday and Saturday.

Upstream of Jingellic
Snowy Hydro advise that releases from Khancoban Storage have fallen below the
Minor Flood Level (113m3/s).

The Murray river at Biggara is currently at 2.1 metres (Minor Flood Level 2.0
metres) and falling slowly. The river is expected to fall below the Minor Flood
Level during Wednesday afternoon.

The Murray River at Bringenbrong is currently at 3.1 metres (Minor Flood Level
(3.0 metres) and falling slowly. The river is expected to fall below the Minor
Flood Level during Wednesday evening.

Jingellic
The Murray River at Jingellic is currently at 4.79 metres (Minor Flood Level
4.0 metres) and falling slowly. The river is expected to stay above the Minor
FLood Level during Wednesday into Thursday.

Final Flood Warning for the Mitta Mitta Upstream of Dartmouth
Issued at 10:19 am EST on Wednesday 8 September 2010

No rainfall has been recorded in the Mitta Mitta catchment since 9am Tuesday
and little rainfall is expected throughout the rest of Wednesday. Rainfall is
likely on Thursday, with rainfall totals of up to 30 mm forecast in the Mitta
Mitta catchment. This rainfall is expected to lead to some small renewed stream
rises and possible renewed minor flooding in the upper reaches of the Mitta
Mitta catchment.

Mitta Mitta upstream of Dartmouth
The Mitta Mitta River at Hinnomunjie peaked at 3.5 metres (Major Flood Level 3
metres) during Saturday evening. The river is currently at 1.74 metres (Minor
Flood Level 1.8 metres) and falling. Renewed stream rises are likely to occur
over the coming days as a result of forecast rainfall.

The Big River at Joker Ck peaked at 3.73 metres (Moderate Flood Level 3.7
metres) at around 7 pm Saturday. The river is currently at 2.08 metres (Minor
Flood Level 2.8 metres) and falling. Renewed stream rises are likely to occur
over the coming days as a result of forecast rainfall.

Tallandoon
The Mitta Mitta River at Tallandoon peaked at 4.1 metres (Minor Flood Level
(4.2 metres) around Sunday afternoon and is continuing to fall. The river is
currently at 2.83 metres.

Final Flood Warning for the Glenelg River
Issued at 10:12 am EST on Wednesday 8 September 2010

In the 24 hours to 9 am Wednesday no significant rainfall has been recorded in
the Glenelg River catchment. No significant rainfall has been forecast for
Wednesday. During Thursday rainfall totals of 10 to 20 mm have been forecast
for the South West.

Stream levels in the Glenelg River between Dergholm and Casterton have now
fallen below the minor flood level and are continuing to fall.

Dergholm
Glenelg River at Dergholm peaked around 4.0 metres during Monday, and has now
fallen below the minor flood level (3.7 metres).

Casterton
The Glenelg River at Casterton peaked around the minor flood level (3.8 metres)
overnight Tuesday. The river fell below the minor flood level Wednesday morning
and is currently at 3.28 metres and falling.

significant has been forecast for the rest of Wednesday, however further
rainfall is possible on Thursday with rainfall totals of up to 15 mm forecast
in the Latrobe Catchment. This rainfall is expected to lead to some renewed
stream rises in the upper reaches of the Latrobe River and tributaries.

Latrobe River downstream of Yallourn
The Latrobe River at Thoms Bridge peaked at around 3.8 metres (Minor Flood
Level 4.0 metres) at 7am Monday. The river is currently at 2.37 metres and
falling.

Rosedale
The Latrobe River at Rosedale is currently peaking at 4.01 metres (Minor Flood
Level 4.0 metres). The river is expected to remain around the Minor Flood Level
for the majority of Wednesday.

In the interests of community safety the SES suggests following precautions:
* Don't walk, ride or drive through floodwater,
* Don't allow children to play in floodwater,
* Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains, and
* Keep well clear of fallen power lines

Weather Forecast:
A cold front will approach western Victoria later today before weakening and
slipping southwards Thursday morning. A stronger cold front will approach
Victoria later Thursday and will sweep across the State Friday morning. A high
pressure system will move across South Australia and New South Wales during the
weekend and will stay well to the north of Victoria.
