Moderate Flood Warning for the Peel River and Major Flood Warning for the Namoi River

MAJOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT GUNNEDAH OVERNIGHT SUNDAY INTO MONDAY
Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed in the Peel and Namoi catchment during Saturday. Further rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Saturday into Sunday.
Along the Peel River, moderate flooding is occurring at Tamworth, with further rises likely overnight due to forecast rainfall.
Further downstream, flood waters from the Peel, Upper Namoi and Mooki Rivers and its tributaries may cause major flooding at Gunnedah overnight Sunday into Monday.
A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall which may lead to flash flooding is current for the Mid North Coast, Hunter and parts of Northern Rivers, Central Tablelands, North West Slopes and Plains, Northern Tablelands, South West Slopes and Snowy Mountains Forecast Districts.
Peel River
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Peel River at Tamworth.
Namoi River
Major flooding may occur along the Namoi River at Gunnedah.
