Minor to Moderate Flood Warning for the Hunter River and Major Flood Warning for Wollombi Brook

MAJOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT BULGA FROM THURSDAY MORNING
MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT SINGLETON, MAITLAND, AND WOLLOMBI FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON
RAYMOND TERRACE REMAINS STEADY JUST BELOW THE MODERATE FLOOD LEVEL
Heavy rainfall since Monday has caused elevated river levels and flooding across the Hunter River catchment. Further rainfall is forecast for the next few days, which is likely to cause further river level rises and prolonged flooding.
Along Wollombi Brook at Bulga, moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding may develop Thursday morning. Renewed rises are possible along Wollombi Brook from Thursday morning, where moderate flooding is possible at Wollombi from Thursday afternoon.
Along the Upper Hunter River, minor flooding is likely at Aberdeen and renewed minor flooding is possible at Denman, from Thursday morning with forecast rainfall.
River levels remain elevated along the lower Hunter River catchment from rainfall earlier in the week. With forecast rainfall, moderate flooding may develop at Singleton and Maitland from Thursday afternoon.
A Severe Weather Warning for heavy, locally intense rainfall is current for northern parts of the Hunter River catchment.
A moderate to major flood warning is current for the Paterson and Williams Rivers.
This situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required. Peak forecasts will be refined as upstream peaks are observed.
Upper Hunter
Minor flooding is likely along the Upper Hunter.
Wollombi Brook
Major flooding may occur along Wollombi Brook.
Lower Hunter
Moderate flooding is possible along the Lower Hunter.
