This flood warning covers both the Victorian and New South Wales
parts of the Murray River catchment upstream of Lake Hume.

Minor Flood Warning for the Murray River upstream of Lake Hume
Issued at 9:44 am EST on Friday 10 September 2010

Since 9 am Thursday rainfall totals up 21 mm have been recorded in the Upper
Murray catchment. Further rainfall is expected during Friday with possible
totals of 10 to 15 mm in the Upper Murray catchment. This rainfall may lead to
renewed small stream rises in the Upper Murray streams.

Upstream of Jingellic
Snowy Hydro advise that releases from Khancoban Storage are steady at 82m3/s
(Minor Flood Level 113m3/s).

The Murray river at Biggara is currently steady around 1.91 metres (Minor Flood
Level 2.0 metres). As a result of forecast rain, renewed small stream rises to
around the minor flood level are possible during Friday.

The Murray River at Bringenbrong is currently below the Minor Flood Level (3.0
metres) and falling slowly. High stream levels will continue around and
downstream of Bringenbrong during Friday.

Jingellic
The Murray River at Jingellic is currently steady around 3.88 metres (Minor
Flood Level 4.0 metres). The river is expected to remain to around the minor
flood level during next couple of days.

In the interests of community safety the SES suggests following precautions:
* Don't walk, ride or drive through floodwater,
* Don't allow children to play in floodwater,
* Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains, and
* Keep well clear of fallen power lines

Victoria

Final Flood Warning for the Broken River Basin
Issued at 9:25 am EST on Friday 10 September 2010

In the 24 hours to 9am Friday rainfall totals up to 22 mm have been recorded
across the Broken catchment. Rainfall totals of up to 15mm are forecast in the
Broken Catchment for the remainder of Friday. This rainfall is not expected to
lead to any significant stream rises in the Broken River and tributaries.

Benalla
Due to technical difficulties no automatic river height observations are
available at Benalla, however a manual level reading at Benalla has confirmed
the river is below the minor flood level of 2.50 metres.

Caseys Weir
The Broken River at Caseys Weir is currently at 0.93 metre (Minor Flood Level
2.1 metres) and continuing to fall.

Broken Creek
Broken Creek at Walsh Bridge is currently at 1.56 metres and rising slowly.
Early indications are that a peak between 2.2 and 2.3 metres is possible.

Orrvale
The Broken River at Orrvale is currently at 5.72 metres and falling. The river
is expected to continue to fall.

* Don't walk, ride or drive through floodwater,
* Don't allow children to play in floodwater,
* Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains, and
* Keep well clear of fallen power lines

Moderate Flood Warning for the Loddon River
Issued at 9:03 am EST on Friday 10 September 2010
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Victorian Regional Office

In the 24 hours to 9 am Thursday up to 9.6 mm of rainfall was recorded in the
Loddon catchment. Rainfall totals of less than 5 mm have been forecast for
Friday for the Loddon Catchment. This rainfall may lead to some small stream
rises in the upper reaches of the Loddon River and tributaries.

Stream levels in the Loddon catchment to Laanecoorie reservoir have recorded
small rises as a result of overnight rainfall, however they are expected to
stay below minor flood levels.

Upstream of Laanecoorie Reservoir
Bet Bet Creek at Bet Bet is currently peaking at 2.29 metres (Minor Flood Level
4.0 metres) as a result of overnight rainfall.

Downstream of Laanecoorie Reservoir
The Loddon River downstream of Laanecoorie is currently steady at 1.58 metres
(Minor Flood Level 1.5 metres). The river is expected to stay above the minor
flood level for the next couple of days.

The Loddon River D/S Loddon Weir is currently at 4.84 metres (Minor Flood Level
3.3 metres) and falling. The river is expected to remain above the Minor Flood
Level for the next several days.

Appin South
The Loddon River at Appin South is currently at 2.92 metres (Minor Flood Level
2.8 metres) and rising. Early indications are that the river will peak around
the Moderate Flood Level (3.1 metres) on Saturday.

Kerang
Loddon River at Kerang is currently steady around 76.26 metres AHD (Minor Flood
Level 77.0 Metres AHD). The river is expected to rise in several days as flood
waters make their way downstream from the Loddon Weir with the possibility of
minor flooding. A peak forecast will be provided once upstream gauges have
peaked.

Moderate Flood Warning for the Wimmera River
Issued at 8:47 am EST on Friday 10 September 2010

Since 9 am Thursday up to 19 mm have been recorded in the Wimmera catchment.
Rainfall totals of less than 5 mm have been forecast
for Friday. The overnight rainfall may lead to small renewed stream rises in
the upper reaches of the Wimmera Basin during Friday.

The main flood waters will be around and downstream of Horsham during Thursday
with stream rises occurring downstream of Horsham for the remainder of this
week.

Significant flows are present in the Richardson and Avon River systems.

Upstream of Horsham
The Wimmera River at Glenorchy has fallen below the Minor Flood Level (4.0
metres) and is continuing to fall slowly.

Horsham and Quantong Bridge
The Wimmera River at Drung Drung peaked at 4.70 metres Tuesday afternoon. The
river is currently at 2.54 metres and falling.

The Wimmera River at Horsham (Walmers) was around 3.35 metres during Thursday
and is expected to be around that level during Friday. Flooding is expected to
continue around and downstream of Horsham during Friday.

The Wimmera River at Quontong Bridge is currently at 6.57 metres and rising.
Flooding is expected to continue around and downstream of Quontong Bridge
during Friday.

Wimmera River lower reaches
The Wimmera River U/S Dimboola is currently at 6.07 metres and rising. The
river will continue rising until the weekend.

Major Flood Warning for the Avoca River

Since 9 am Friday rainfall totals of up to 7.6 mm have been recorded in the
Avoca River catchment. Rainfall totals of less than 5mm have been forecast for
Friday. The overnight rainfall may lead to renewed small stream rises in the
upper reaches of the Avoca River during Friday.

The main flood waters in the Avoca River are now in the Quambatook area where
minor to moderate flooding is occurring.

Upstream of Yawong Weir
Avoca River at Archdale Junction is continuing to fall.

Downstream of Yawong Weir
The Avoca River at Yawong Weir is below the minor flood level (3.0 metres) and
continuing to fall.

Charlton
The Avoca River at Charlton D/S is below the minor flood level (5.0 metres) and
continuing to fall.

The Avoca River at Quambatook is currently at 2.18 metres (Minor Flood Level
2.0 metres) and is expected to continue rising into the weekend. The river will
exceed the moderate flood level during Friday morning (2.2 metres). A peak
height around the Major Flood Level (2.4 metres) is expected during Saturday.

with a weak low pressure system moving across Tasmania.

Strong wind warning for Victorian waters between Wilsons Promontory and Point
Hicks
Winds: West to southwesterly developing up to 30 knots during the afternoon.
Combined sea and swell: Increasing up to 3 metres.

Strong wind warning for Victorian waters between Point Hicks and 60nm east of
Gabo Island
Winds: West to southwesterly developing up to 30 knots during the evening.
Combined sea and swell: Increasing up to 3 metres.

Reissue to upgrade Lower Goulburn River from Moderate to Major Flood Warning.

Since 9 am Wednesday rainfall totals of up to 4.2 mm have been recorded in the
Goulburn catchment. Further rainfall is expected on Thursday through Friday,
with totals of up to 20 mm forecast in the Goulburn Catchment. Forecast
rainfall may lead to some small renewed stream rises and possible renewed minor
flooding in the upper reaches of the Goulburn and tributaries.

The main flood waters in the Goulburn Basin are now at Shepparton, and further
rises downstream of Shepparton are expected today.

Upstream of Lake Eildon
The Goulburn River at Doherty's is currently below the Minor Flood Level (2.0
metres) and falling. As a result of forecast rainfall the river may rise above
the Minor Flood Level during Friday.

Goulburn tributaries below Eildon and Seymour
The Acheron River at Taggerty is currently at 2.13 metres (Minor Flood Level
2.0 metres) and steady. Further rises are possible due to forecast rain in the
Goulburn catchment today with minor flooding continuing for several days.

Goulburn River Lake Eildon to Seymour
Goulburn River at Trawool is currently below the Minor Flood Level (4.0 metres)
and falling.

Seymour
The Goulburn River at Seymour is below the Minor Flood Level (4.0 metres) and
falling slowly.

Hughes Creek
Hughes Creek at Tarcombe Road is below the Minor Flood Level (2.0 metres) and
steady.

Murchison
The Goulburn River at Murchison is currently at 9.45 metres (Minor Flood Level
9.0 metres) and falling slowly. The river is expected to remain above the Minor
Flood Level until late Friday.

Seven Creeks at Kialla West
Seven Creeks at Kialla West is currently at 5.0 metres (Moderate Flood Level
5.0 metres) and falling. The river is expected to remain above the Minor FLood
Level (4.5 metres) during Friday and renewed stream rises are possible as a
result of forecast rainfall.

Broken River at Orrvale
The Broken River at Orrvale is below the Minor Flood Level (6.8 metres) and
falling.

Goulburn River at Arcadia Downs
The Goulburn River at Arcadia Downs peaked at around 10.81 metres (Major Flood
Level 10.7 metres) at about 4am Wednesday. The river fell below Major Flood
Level Thursday morning and is currently at 10.59 metres (Moderate Flood Level
10.2 metres) and falling slowly. The river is expected to remain above the
Moderate Flood Level into Friday.

Shepparton
The Goulburn River at Shepparton peaked at 11.09 metres (Major Flood Level 11.0
metres) at about 6am Wednesday. The river fell below Major Flood Level late
Wednesday night and is currently at 10.68 metres (Moderate Flood Level 10.7
metres) and falling slowly. The river is expected to remain above the Minor
Flood Level (9.5 metres) for the next 5 to 7 days.

McCoys Bridge
The Goulburn River at McCoys Bridge is currently at 9.87 metres (Minor Flood
Level 9.0 metres) and rising. The river is expected to exceed the Moderate
Flood Level (10 metres) during Thursday evening and the Major Flood Level (10.2
metres) during Friday morning. The river is expected to peak at around 10.3
metres during Friday afternoon.

* Don't walk, ride or drive through floodwater,
* Don't allow children to play in floodwater,
* Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains, and
* Keep well clear of fallen power lines

Since 9am Thursday rainfall totals up 6.4 mm have been recorded in the Ovens
and King River catchments. Further rainfall totals of up to 10 to 20 mm are
forecast in the Ovens and King Catchment for Thursday into Friday. This
rainfall is expected to lead to renewed stream rises and possible renewed minor
flooding in the upper reaches of the Ovens Basin late Thursday into Friday.

Moderate to Minor flooding is continuing in the King and Ovens catchments.

Ovens River upstream of Bright
The Ovens River at Bright is currently below the Minor Flood Level (3.0 metres)
and falling.

Buckland River
The Buckland River at Harris Lane is below the Minor Flood Level (2.8 metres)
and falling. As a result of forecast rainfall renewed stream rises are likely
and minor flooding may develop during late Thursday into Friday.

Myrtleford
The Ovens River at Eurobin is is below the Minor Flood Level (4.5 metres) and
falling.

Buffalo River
The Buffalo River downstream of Lake Buffalo is currently at 3.17 metres (Minor
Flood level 3.0 metres) and falling. The river is expected to remain above the
Minor Flood Level for the remainder of Thursday. As a result of forecast
rainfall renewed stream rises are likely late Thursday.

Rocky Point
The Ovens River at Rocky Point is currently at 3.14 metres (Minor Flood Level
3.2 metres) and steady. The river is expected to remain above the Minor Flood
Level for the remainder of Thursday.

Upper King River
The King River at Cheshunt is currently below the Minor Flood Level (1.8
metres) and steady.

Docker Road
The King River at Docker Road fell below the Moderate Flood Level (3.95 metres)
during early Thursday morning. The river is currently at 3.92 metres and
falling slowly. The river is expected to remain above the Minor Flood Level
during next few days.

Wangaratta
The Ovens River at Wangaratta is currently at 12.43 metres Moderate Flood Level
(12.4 metres) and slowly receding. The river is expected to fall below the
Moderate Flood Level during Thursday evening.

Moderate Flood Warning for the Yarra River at Yarra Glen
Issued at 5:39 pm EST on Thursday 9 September 2010

Melbourne Water

The Yarra River catchment has received no significant rainfall in the
24 hours since 09:00am yesterday. Rainfall totals of up to 10mm have
been forecast for the headwaters of the Yarra River catchment and around
5mm for the Lower Yarra Region until tomorrow morning. The forecast rainfall
may cause renewed stream rises at various locations along the Yarra
River.



Water level in the upstream reaches of the Yarra River is still
overtopping its banks at Coldstream (Yarra Grange) and Yarra Glen,
causing inundation in low-lying areas adjacent to the river, in
particular bicycle paths, pedestrian paths and parklands. No roads are
affected at this stage.



At Coldstream, the water level in the Yarra River is currently at 4.30m,
which is still above the minor flood level of 4.0m, and falling.



At Yarra Glen, the river level is now at the Moderate Flood Level of
4.5m, and falling slowly.

Minor Flood Warning for the Kiewa River
Issued at 5:30 pm EST on Thursday 9 September 2010
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Victorian Regional Office

Since 9am Thursday totals up to 3.6 mm have been recorded in the Kiewa river
catchment with an isolated total of 7.0 mm at Albury.

Further rainfall totals of 20 to 30 mm are forecast in the Kiewa catchment
during Thursday evening into Friday. This rainfall is expected to lead to some
small renewed stream rises and possible renewed minor flooding in the upper
reaches of the Kiewa catchment.

Minor flooding is currently occurring in the Kiewa catchment and expected to
continue over the next several days.

AGL Hydro advises that releases from storages into the Kiewa River are
currently steady at around 70 ML/hour.

Mongans Bridge
Kiewa River at Mongans Bridge is currently at 1.97 metres and falling slowly.

The main channel of the Kiewa River is currently steady at 3.3 metres (Minor
Flood Level 3.3 metres). The river is expected to remain around the Minor Flood
Level during Thursday into Friday.

Bandiana
The Kiewa River at Bandiana is currently at 2.83 metres and falling slowly. The
river is expected to remain above the Minor Flood Level (2.7 metres) for
several days.

The Macalister River at Glencairn is currently at 1.14 metres and falling.

Macalister Catchment downstream of Lake Glenmaggie
Southern Rural Water advises that the releases from Lake Glenmaggie were

Final Flood Warning for the Latrobe River downstream of Yallourn

River levels in the Latrobe basin have fallen below the Minor Flood Level.

In the 24 hours to 9am Thursday rainfall totals of up to 2.6 mm have been
recorded in the Latrobe basin. Rainfall is forecast for Thursday evening into
Friday with totals of up to 15 mm possible. This rainfall is expected to lead
to some renewed stream rises in the upper reaches of the Latrobe River and
tributaries. However further flooding is not expected.

Latrobe River downstream of Yallourn
The Latrobe River at Thoms Bridge is currently at 1.76 metres and falling
(Minor Flood Level 4.0 metres). Forecast rainfall could lead to renewed stream
rises but is not expected to cause further flooding.

Rosedale
The Latrobe River at Rosedale peaked at around the Minor Flood Level (4.0
metres) on Wednesday and is now falling. Forecast rainfall could lead to
renewed stream rises but is not expected to cause further flooding.

In the interests of community safety the SES suggests following precautions:
* Don't walk, ride or drive through floodwater,
* Don't allow children to play in floodwater,
* Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains, and
* Keep well clear of fallen power lines

slipping away southwards. A stronger cold front will approach Victoria Thursday
night and will sweep across the State on Friday morning. A high pressure system
will move across South Australia and New South Wales during the weekend and

western Victoria later on Sunday.

Minor Flood Warning for the Thomson River downstream of the Macalister River
Junction

Since 9 AM Thursday up to 2 mm have been recorded over the Thomson and
Macalister catchments. Rainfall totals of 5 to 10 mm have been forecast for
Thursday afternoon into Friday over the Thompson and Macalister River
catchments. This rainfall may lead to small stream rises in the Thomson and
renewed rises in the Macalister River Catchment.

As a result of the minor flood flow releases from Lake Glenmaggie over the past
several days high stream levels and minor flooding are expected to continue
along the Thomson River downstream of the Macalister River junction.

Macalister River
Southern Rural Water advises that the releases from Lake Glenmaggie were
reduced to 5100 Ml/d (Minor Flood Level 7500 Ml/d) during Thursday morning and
will be held at this rate for the remainder of Thursday.

Sale
The Thomson River at Sale Wharf is currently steady at 2.41 metres (Minor Flood
Level 2.4 metres). Areas of minor flooding will continue around and downstream
of Sale for the remainder of Thursday.

Minor to Moderate Flood Warning for rural areas along the Murray River
downstream of Yarrawonga

Reissued to update warning.

The Murray River at Corowa peaked at 3.83 metres Wednesday afternoon and has
now fallen below minor flood level.

The Murray River flood peak from Yarrawonga is expected to arrive at Tocumwal
on Friday causing some minor rural flooding. Forecasts for Tocumwal and
Deniliquin have been revised downwards to reflect the recorded rates of river
level rise.

Predicted River Heights/Flows:
Tocumwal - peak near 6.5 metres Friday with minor rural flooding

Deniliquin - reach 6.0 metres around 19/9/10 with minor rural flooding

Echuca / Moama - reach 94 metres (AHD) around 15/9/10 with moderate rural
flooding - note river levels will be close to the peak
for several days before the maximum level is recorded.

Barham - reach 5.9 metres around 19/9/10 with moderate rural flooding

In the 24 hours to 9:00 am Thursday rainfall totals up to 3.8 mm have been
recorded in the Mitchell River catchment. Rainfall is forecast for Thursday,
with totals of up to 5 to 10 mm possible. This rainfall may lead to renewed
small stream rises in the Mitchell Catchment.

Mitchell River upstream of Glenaladale
The Wonnangatta River at Waterford is currently at 3.18 metres (Minor Flood
Level 3.5 metres) and falling slowly. The river is expected to remain below the
minor flood level.

Glenaladale
The Mitchell River at Glenaladale is currently at 2.48 metres (Minor Flood
Level 3.0 metres) and falling slowly. The river is expected to remain below the
minor flood level.

Bairnsdale
The Mitchell River at Rosehill peaked at 7.95 metres. The river is currently at
4.92 metres and falling slowly.

The Mitchell River at Bairnsdale Pumphouse peaked around 6.4 metres between
12.00 pm and 2.00 pm Monday. The river is currently at 3.49 metres (Minor Flood
Level 4.0 metres) and falling. Areas of high stream levels will continue around
and downstream of Bairnsdale during Thursday.
